Jan 24 (Reuters) – Lebanon’s response to Kuwait’s proposed confidence-building measures will be ready by Saturday, Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib told reporters on Monday.

Kuwait’s foreign minister presented a 12-point proposal to Lebanese officials to end a diplomatic rift with the Gulf states.

It included Lebanon’s commitment to the 1989 Ta’if accord that ended Lebanon’s civil war, strengthening border controls to prevent drug trafficking to the Gulf and strengthening security, said diplomatic sources told Reuters on Sunday. (Report by Nayera Abdallah Editing by Peter Graff)
